Large Form Coil Building - Tues Mornings

Service Description

In this 3 Week Class, instructor Matt Starkey will share his secrets for creating large and intricate coil built forms! Students will learn to roll coils by hand, develop unique and interesting shapes, and add surface design and texture to create a one of a kind vase or sculpture. Returning students and beginners are welcome. Class meets once per week for 3 weeks and includes all equipment, materials & firing for pieces made in class, as well as free access to open studio hours (Monday-Saturday 10am-5pm and Sundays 10am-4pm). Students will plan, build, and refine their pieces in class but no class time will be allotted to glazing. Students are welcome to return with a day pass to complete their pieces. Please note, we do not offer make up classes. Students are encouraged to take advantage of open studio hours to make up any missed classes with some independent practice. Private lessons are also available to currently enrolled students at a discounted rate. This class is designed for adults and will move at an adult pace. Teens ages 15+ are welcome to join. Kids and teens 14 and under are not eligible for this class but are encouraged to check out our kids and teens classes!
