Wheel 2: Off the Mound - Thursday PM

Service Description

PREREQUISITE: Students must complete a 6 week Wheel 1 class at Cass Ceramics before taking this class (ideally within the past 6 months) In this 3 week Wheel 2 class, students will learn a technique called throwing off the mound, which entails throwing many small items from a single large mound of clay. Students will explore forms like small cups, vases, candle holders, saucers, etc. Students will throw and trim in this class, but no class time will be allotted to glazing. Students are welcome to return with a day pass to complete their pieces. Class meets once per week for 3 weeks and includes all equipment, materials & firing for pieces made in class, as well as free access to open studio hours (Monday-Saturday 10am-5pm and Sundays 10am-4pm). Please note, we do not offer make up classes. Students are encouraged to take advantage of open studio hours to make up any missed classes with some independent practice. Private lessons are also available to currently enrolled students at a discounted rate. This class is designed for adults and will move at an adult pace. Teens ages 15+ are welcome to join. Kids and teens 14 and under are not eligible for this class but are encouraged to check out our kids and teens classes!
