Hand Built Sgraffito Tea Sets - Thurs AM

Service Description

* THIS IS A 3 WEEK SESSION In this 3 week class, students will build a teapot and two tea cups out of slabs of clay and learn to embellish it with sgraffito (a method of applying pigment and carving patterns to reveal the claybody underneath). No experience necessary - beginners welcome! At the end of the class session, Cass Ceramics staff will fire and clear glaze the Teapots and they will be ready for pick up in about 3 weeks. Class meets once per week for 3 weeks and includes all equipment, materials & firing for pieces made in class, as well as free access to open studio hours (Monday-Saturday 10am-5pm and Sundays 10am-4pm). Please note, we do not offer make up classes. Students are encouraged to take advantage of open studio hours to make up any missed classes with some independent practice. Private lessons are also available to currently enrolled students at a discounted rate.
